Surface photovoltage (SPV) techniques can provide information, for example, about fundamental properties and stability of related materials and their interfaces. In the presentation, principles of SPV measurements in the Kelvin-probe and fixed capacitor arrangements will be introduced and illustrated with some examples including chalcopyrite [1], kesterite [2] and perovskite [3] absorbers as well as charge transfer across nano-porous electrodes [4] and organic [5] or quantum dot monolayers [6].<br \/>\n[1] Th. Dittrich worked at the former Academy of Sciences of the former GDR, at the former Hahn-Meitner-Institute, at the Technical University of Munich and became a group leader at the Helmholtz-Center Berlin for Materials and Energy. Th.
