Special Session 3 – Wind Energy: Electric Production and Grid Integration

Nowadays, wind energy generation is growing continually worldwide and becomes an essential component of produced power in many countries. This growth of wind power generation increases its penetration into the power system and its contribution to the overall energy supply. However, the power generated by wind turbines over time is characteristically intermittent due to the variability of wind velocity. Therefore, the management of power (regulating voltage and frequency) should be addressed.
In this session, we will discuss the main technical challenges related to wind power generation, on one hand; and the integration of wind power into power system issues on the other hand.
Researchers and engineers are invited to submit 5 minutes-videos related to:
– Wind Energy Exploitation.
– Power Electronics for the Wind Turbine Generators.
– Grid Integration Issues.
