Workshop 4 – Energy Efficiency in the Buildings and construction sector

The building sector is one of the largest energy consumers worldwide with the rapid growth of final energy consumption. With a steadily growing share of final energy demand, this sector represents a significant potential in terms of rationalization of energy consumption and an important source of reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Buildings account for 40% of final energy use and contribute up to 30% of global annual greenhouse gas emissions. Improving their performance is a key challenge for regional policy-makers. The challenge is to develop long-term strategies to reduce energy consumption and to construct nearly zero-energy buildings.

The Workshop that is always deemed successful with a large number of participants brings together specialists from academia and industry to share and exchange on future challenges and opportunities on research and innovation related to Building Energy Efficiency.

Join us at this interactive and participatory workshop to meet other specialist partners, discuss projects, share best practices, define future common activities for advancing your building energy efficiency approaches, and running your successful research projects. Additionally, you will hear about the latest developments and initiatives in building energy efficiency at the world level.

All topics related to the subject matter are welcome: (Integrated and sustainable buildings, construction materials, Experimental characterization of thermal properties, inverse techniques, heat transfer modelling and simulation, Energy audit and energy management, Life cycle cost analysis, Building thermal laws and regulations, Insulation techniques and envelope design …)
