In recent years artificial intelligence (AI) has played a big role in renewable energy systems especially PV systems design, control, and output estimation. AI plays a critical role in modelling, sizing, control, fault diagnosis, and output estimation of PV systems. in This tutorial we will briefly discuss these topics and the challenges facing PV systems researchers in each topic. We will then concentrate on applying AI on solving these issues. The main motivation of this tutorial is to stress the importance of AI in PV systems research and introduce the research directions in this area. This tutorial will survey most of the work of this research area so far concentrating on research articles that have high impact on this field. The tutorial will compare between different AI algorithms in each research topic. This helps researchers identify the most efficient AI algorithm to use in each research topic. We will also briefly discuss our contributions in this area along with work in progress. Other aspect of this research area is the hardware implementations of these AI algorithms on different platforms especially FPGA implementations. The tutorial will discuss different research ideas in the field of applying AI algorithms to PV systems.

Biography
Aiman is a postdoctoral researcher in the BDS group. he is currently working on ADDC project funded by SFI. He graduate from electronics and communication engineering Cairo university in 2008. He received M.S. degree in electronics and communication in 2013 Cairo University, and the PHD degree in improving efficiency of PV systems using intelligent control form Ain Shams university in 2019 (the best thesis award from ECE department in 2019). his research interest include hardware implementations of AI algorithms on FPGA, improving PV systems efficiency using AI and currently Automatic digital design with evolutionary algorithm.
