France.
In order to anticipate local events in the forthcoming minutes, on-site images of the sky are the most valuable source of information. At Reuniwatt, we have developed two sky cameras and an intra-hour forecasting software, InstaCast™, to achieve minute-ahead forecasting. Solar fluctuations are anticipated thanks to the sky imagers’ insight into current and upcoming local weather conditions. The steep reduction of solar production caused by the movement of the clouds can be detected in time in order to optimise plant operations. Nicolas Schmutz will present a few use cases using sky cameras (USA, Mali, Brazil).
